Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated staff member to provide classroom support and clerical assistance in a school setting. The role includes helping teachers with small group instruction and supervising students during bus rides, lunch, and transitions.

The position also involves preparing materials, copying, filing, attendance, and other clerical tasks, with duties exercised according to established procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of childhood growth and development and behavior management techniques.
• Clerical procedures and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with classroom duties, including providing small group instruction.
• Assists students with academic subjects; one-to-one, small group, or whole class support.
• Prepares and reproduces classroom materials; assists with bulletin boards and displays.
• Assists students on and off the school bus; supervises students at lunch and may need to assist with supervision in the library, computer lab, classroom, and playground.
• Assists in classrooms and offices as assigned and as needed.
• Provides clerical assistance – including typing, filing, maintaining records, attendance, ordering supplies and materials.
