Job summary

Washington Elementary School District 6 in Phoenix is seeking a paraprofessional to support teachers in a classroom environment. Under direct supervision, you will provide materials, assist with student projects, monitor students, and help prepare activities.

You will communicate with parents, contribute to lesson plans, and help maintain order during recess and meals. Must have a high school diploma and meet district qualifications; CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to hire.
• Completion of 60 college credit hours or an associate's degree.
• Paraprofessional test or CPR certification as required by WESD.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by providing materials and handouts to students.
• Work with students individually or in groups on projects.
• Demonstrate skills and techniques to aid learning.
• Monitor students on the playground and in the cafeteria.
• Copy and prepare educational materials and classroom for activities.
• Communicate with parents regarding progress and concerns.
• Assist with lesson planning and provide feedback from students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
