Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 60 college hours.
• Pass Praxis paraprofessional exam.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic; represent the district positively.
• Articulate a positive image of the district and personnel.
• Demonstrate customer service strategies to district patrons.
• Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and activities.
• Work with individual students or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom, including cafeteria, bus duty, and playground.
• Notify the teacher of special needs or problems of students; help maintain a neat classroom.
• Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help maintain administrative records and prepare reports; participate in staff development and events.
• Provide orientation to substitute teachers.
• Assist teachers in using technology to enhance learning.
• Uphold school rules and policies; be a positive role model.
• Other duties as assigned.
