Chambersburg Area School District seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to assist certified staff in classrooms, enabling focus on curriculum development and student achievement. You will support individual and small-group learning, reinforce reading and math, and help with records and safety procedures.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, supervision during lunch, bus and field trips, and communication with parents to foster involvement in education.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
• Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
• Assist professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions and keep a safe, orderly environment.
• Assist students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, corridor, study hall).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Construct, copy, distribute and use educational materials as needed.
• Assist with parent contact to foster effective involvement in student education.
• Assist students with special needs to maximize inclusion and achievement per IEP objectives.
• Participate in IEP process and serve as resource for the student personnel evaluation team.
• Assist students with daily living activities to maximize participation in school activities.
• Follow safety rules and procedures for assisting all students.
• Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
