Job summary

Mesquite ISD's Frontline posting seeks a Paraprofessional - Classroom/Instructional Assistant for Mesquite Academy. You will assist teachers, prepare materials, and supervise students under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Requires High School Diploma or GED, strong communication and ability to work with children; some experience is welcome. The role is a full-time position serving in the school day across classroom, lunchroom, bus and playground duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and families.
• Ability to work well with children and build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the teacher to set up classroom and prepare materials.
• Assemble materials for bulletin boards and keep displays current.
• Operate standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, etc.
• Escort children to and from various rooms.
• Assist in small group pupil instruction and tutor students.
• Supervise students during the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Keep teacher informed of any special needs or problems.
