Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in delivering a high-quality education. You will assist with instruction, prepare materials, manage behavior, and help with field trips and classroom setup.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an associate degree or pass ParaPro/WorkKeys, and at least two years of experience with young children. BPS values linguistic diversity and inclusive classrooms.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree, or passing score on ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Proficiency.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trip activities.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
