Job summary

Sourcewell is seeking an Instructional Aide to support certified staff in classrooms across Pre-K through 12th grade. The role involves reinforcing reading and math, supervising students, and assisting with assessments and instructional materials, across district-wide settings.

The incumbent will work with diverse student populations, including students with special needs, and will participate in IEP processes as needed, ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college coursework or equivalent.
• Experience with special needs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist professional staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills.
• Assist with record-keeping documenting student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to maintain safety and order.
• Supervise students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, etc.).
• Accompany students on field trips to assist supervision.
• Prepare, copy and distribute educational materials as needed.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement.
• Assist students with special needs to maximize inclusion and achievement.
• Participate in IEP process as needed.
