Qualifications

• Two years college (48 hours minimum) including 9 hours of Mathematics and 9 hours of English.
• Associate degree or higher or pass the Louisiana State Department of Education test.
• Some previous experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Assists teacher in preparing and developing teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
• Assists teacher in presenting subject matter to students using various methods (lecture, discussion, role-playing).
• Assists in preparing, administering, and grading examinations.
• Supervises students in study areas, cafeteria, halls, playground, field trips, and bus loading/unloading areas.
