Job summary

Sylvania in New Albany, NJ is seeking a General Classroom Aide to support certified staff and help students meet instructional goals. The schedule is 5.75 hours per day, 5 days per week, with no benefits.

You will assist with reading, math, language arts, prepare materials, supervise during non-instructional times, accompany on field trips, and help with IEP processes as needed.

This role emphasizes inclusion, confidentiality, and collaboration with teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Parapro Assessment or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience assisting students with disabilities desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist with preparation of materials and strategies to reinforce instructional materials.
• Support with record-keeping to document student learning and performance.
• Contribute to classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
