Job summary

Lubbock Independent School District is seeking an Educational Aide (General) to support classroom teachers in achieving student learning goals. The position is nonexempt, with a 10-month contract and reports to the campus principal or assistant principal.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a TEA paraprofessional aide certificate, plus experience with children. Responsibilities include supervising small groups, one-on-one instruction, and clerical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED
• Texas Education Agency paraprofessional educational aide certificate
• Experience working with children
• Ability to get along with others and follow directions while working independently
• Computer/typing skills and/or willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Supervises small group student activities
• Conducts one-on-one instructional activities
• Performs clerical (instructional) activities for the classroom teacher
• Distributes and collects instructional material
• Assists in classroom management and supervision
• Set up and assist with supervision of listening stations and/or centers
• Performs other duties as assigned
