Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide for Solon Academy in Solon, Ohio. You will support the teacher with classroom activities, help promote positive student behavior, and provide oversight to ensure safety and a positive school climate.

Responsibilities include assisting with lessons, managing classroom technology, supporting events and parent relations, performing clerical tasks, and helping maintain a clean learning environment. Associates degree or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the Paraprofessional’s Exam completed.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI background check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follow plans.
• Assist with planning classroom activities and parent relations.
• Support school activities such as events, meetings, field trips, and committees.
• Perform clerical duties including grading papers and copying.
• Assist with classroom technology use.
• Help maintain cleanliness of classroom, lunchroom and other areas.
• Adhere to the school's philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties including field trips and duty coverage.
