Job summary

The Menta Education Group is hiring a Classroom Security Paraprofessional w/Student Transportation in Galesburg, IL. You will work with instructors to provide targeted teaching support and general student assistance throughout the school day.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license and willingness to transport students by school van. Roles run Monday–Friday with 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. hours, no late nights or weekends, and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to use a school van to transport students before and after school.
• No late nights, weekends or holidays; consistent 12 month calendar with 10 month school calendar.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and social-emotional support in the classroom.
• Manage classroom behaviors.
• Report behavioral concerns to appropriate staff.
• Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data.
• Maintain classroom order and safety (security) and provide general supervision of students.
• Assist in prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and escalation in behavior.
• Respond to emergency situations and think quickly, independently, and tactfully.
• Provide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviors.

Job description

As a Classroom Security Paraprofessional w/Student Transportation at The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school.

Galesburg, IL

• Must have Valid Driver's License and be willing to use School Van to transport students before & after school.
• Monday-Friday: Hours vary depending on Transportation Route responsibilities: 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

This job offers consistent 12 Month Calendar compensation, but follows a 10 Month School Calendar.

No late nights. No weekends. No holidays.

Responsibilities:

Qualifcations:

• Security or Juvenile Justice background is helpful.
• State of IL PERC is preferred Permanent Employee Registration Card.
• Military Veterans are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to operate tactfully under stress.
• Flexibility to change in routines.
• At least 23 years of age.
• Able to work with high-risk special needs students.
• Transport Students using a School Van before & after school.
• Valid D.L. w/Passenger Endorsement and "clean" driving record.
• Provide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviors.
• Think quickly, independently, and tactfully.
