Job summary

The Menta Education Group in Galesburg, IL seeks a Paraprofessional with Student Transportation. You will support classroom instructors with targeted teaching and help supervise students in the school, and you will drive a school van to transport students before and after school.

The position offers a consistent calendar with 12 months and a flexible route schedule, with no late nights or weekend work. We provide Paraprofessional Certification & Training, and a benefits package including

Qualifications

• Certified Paraprofessional is preferred, but not required.
• Registered Behavior Technician or DSP experience is helpful.
• Educational background in education, psychology, sociology, human services, kinesiology, sports/sports medicine, or social work is helpful.
• Security or Juvenile Justice background is helpful.
• Military Veterans are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to operate tactfully under stress.
• Flexibility to change in routines.
• Able to work with high-risk special needs students.
• Good driving record and willing and able to drive student van is required (NO CDL Needed).
• At least 23 years of age.

• Maintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or be a safety concern and report these conditions; respond to emergency situations.
• Provide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviors.
• Think quickly, independently, and tactfully.

Job description

As a Paraprofessional with Student Transportation at The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school. You will also be responsible for driving a route of students to and from school, using school equipment (van).

• Must have Valid Driver's License and be willing to use School Van to transport students before & after school.
• Monday-Friday: Hours vary depending out Transportation Route responsibilities: 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
