Job summary

The Menta Education Group Eunice, NM is seeking a Paraprofessional to work with classroom instructors and staff, providing targeted teaching and classroom support to students with exceptional needs. This Direct Hire role includes a 10-month school calendar with 12-month compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include managing classroom behaviors, reporting concerns, implementing behavior programs, and ensuring safety and supervision of students.

Qualifications

• Background in security or juvenile justice is helpful.
• Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to operate tactfully under stress.
• Flexibility to adapt to routine changes.
• At least 23 years of age.
• Able to work with high-risk special needs students.
• Good driving record; willing and able to drive student van is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom behaviors.
• Report behavioral concerns to staff.
• Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data.
• Maintain classroom order and safety.
• Provide general supervision of students.
• Assist in prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behavior.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Provide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviors.
• Think quickly, independently, and tactfully.
