Job summary

The Menta Education Group is seeking an Educational Assistant with RBT to support instructors and students at Menta Academy Eunice, NM. This role focuses on targeted teaching, classroom management, and safety within a 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

schedule, Mon-Fri on a 10-month calendar. Candidates should have RBT certification and be comfortable working with high-risk special needs students. Responsibilities include academic support, behavior management, and reporting concerns to staff.

Qualifications

• RBT certification required.
• Substitute teacher certification or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in education or behavioral health preferred.
• Must be at least 23 years old.
• Ability to work with high-risk special needs students.
• Ability to stay calm under stress and adapt to routines.

Job description

As an Educational Assistant with RBT at The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school.

Location: Menta Academy Eunice, 1710 Ave J, Eunice, NM 88231.

Staff Hours: 8:00 a.m.. to 3:30 p.m., Mon-Fri, following a 10 Month School Calendar.

Requirement: Registered Behavior Technician License/Certification.

Primary Focus: Manage Classroom and/or Refocus Room behaviors.

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic support within the classroom.
• Manage classroom and/or Refocus Room behaviors.
• Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff.
• Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data.
• Maintain classroom order and safety (Security).
• Provide general supervision of students inside the school setting.
• Assist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behavior.
• Maintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditionsRespond to emergency situations.
• Provide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviors
• Think quickly, independently, and tactfully.

Qualifications:

• Registered Behavior Technician Certification.
• Substitute Teacher Certification or Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required.
• Background in education and/or behavioral health preferred.
• Ability to operate tactfully under stress.
• Flexibility to change in routines.
• At least 23 years of age.
• Able to work with high-risk special needs students.
