Job summary

Menta Education Group is seeking a Bachelor's Degree Level Paraprofessional/ Substitute Teacher to support classroom instructors and staff with targeted teaching and student support. This is a direct hire for the school year with a 10-month calendar and a 7:30-3:00 schedule, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities include substitute teaching, managing behaviors, and reporting concerns. Strong emphasis on classroom safety and student interventions for PK-21 levels in small self-contained rooms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Substitute Teacher Certificate required.
• Background in security or juvenile justice helpful.
• Military veterans encouraged to apply.
• At least 23 years of age.
• Able to work with high-risk special needs students.
• Good driving record and willingness to drive student van preferred.

Responsibilities

• Substitute Teach as needed; act as a paraprofessional as needed.
• Manage classroom behaviors.
• Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff.
• Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data.
• Maintain classroom order and safety (security); provide general supervision of students inside the school setting.
• Assist in prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behavior.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide interventions to students to help manage behaviors.
