Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments: two years at college or associate degree or demonstrated knowledge via assessment.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment (phones, copiers, fax, email).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate English language skills.
• Intermediate oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others.
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile situations.
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
• Work one-on-one and in small groups with students.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials, administering tests, grading, attendance; daily 30% time.
• Assist students with classroom activities and curriculum delivery in small groups; daily 30% time.
• Monitor students and reinforce behavior during various activities; daily 20% time.
• Perform basic clerical work for the teacher (typing, filing, inventory, data entry, etc.); daily 10% time.
• Assist with field trips or fire drills; daily 5% time.
• Perform other duties as assigned; daily 5% time.
