Job summary

Frisco ISD seeks an instructional aide to support teachers in delivering reading, writing, and math instruction. You will work with individual students or small groups, prepare instructional materials, and help with classroom displays.

You will assist with tests, records, and daily routines, including supervision during lunch, bus, and recess. The role requires effective communication and teamwork within a school environment.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: GED or High School Diploma; associates degree preferred; must register with SBEC for Educational Aide Certification.
• Special knowledge: assist in reading, writing, and mathematics; communicate effectively; work well with children.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests or assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom; assist with inventory and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation/assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during school day (lunchroom, bus, playground).
• Notify teacher of special needs or problems of students.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
• Frisco ISD reserves the right to adjust duties as needed.

Primary Purpose

Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

GED of High School Diploma

Associates degree or two years of higher education preferred

Must register with SBEC to obtain an Educational Aide Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics

Ability to work well with children

Ability to communicate effectively

Knowledge of general office equipment

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups.

Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.

Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.

Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.

Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.

Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.

Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.

Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.

Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.

Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
