Job summary

Frisco ISD is seeking an instructional assistant to support physical education activities across campuses. You will assist teachers with student activities, prepare materials and displays, and help maintain orderly classrooms and equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preference for an associate degree or higher and completion of SBEC Educational Aide Certification. You will supervise students during the day and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or two years of higher education preferred.
• Must complete SBEC certification to obtain Educational Aide Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students in the area of physical education.
• Prepare student work, stations, instructional materials, and classroom displays.
• Set up and maintain neat and orderly classrooms.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of equipment.
• Adjust on-the-spot instruction when needed and provide feedback to teachers.
• Monitor student behavior during class and assist with supervision.
• Communicate progress and concerns to teachers.
• Uphold school rules and confidentiality; participate in staff development.

Primary Purpose

Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of the physical education teachers on each campus. Assist in the preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED requiredAssociate degree or two years of higher education preferredIf hired, must complete SBEC certification process to obtain an Educational Aide Certification

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Assist teachers and students in the area of physical education.Assist teachers in preparation of student work, workstations, instructional materials, and classroom displays.Help setup and maintain neat and orderly classrooms.Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.Adjust on-the-spot instruction without immediate teacher directions when necessary and provide feedback to teacher on students' progress.Monitor and manage student behavior during class.Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom; this includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local Board policy.Maintain confidentiality.Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
