Job summary

Child Development Services in Lander, WY is seeking an Educational Assistant to support classroom teachers, reinforce lessons, and assist with student activities. Responsibilities

• Provides support to the teacher in classroom instruction and management.
• Assists the teacher with classroom activities and lessons.
• Works with individual students who require additional or modified instruction.
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with students and parents.
• Prepares communication folders to be sent home with students.
• Monitors students when the teacher is out of the classroom.
• Escorts students to other areas of the school such as the bathroom, playground, gym, or other classrooms; monitors behavior during recess and snacks.
• Assists with student drop-off and pickup.
• Enforces safety and security standards for children, staff, and visitors.
• Maintains attendance records and parent communication in BrightWheel.
• Will assist on the bus with student pick-up and drop-off.
• Maintains knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in early childhood education.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:

Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a teacher’s assistant is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching,

and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 30% sitting, 35% walking,

35% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in a generally hazard free environment.
