The Summit Center in Amherst, NY is seeking a Classroom Aide to support the lead teacher, assist with instruction, and help students develop skills in a supportive environment.

This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 35 hours per week, with pay at $20.34 per hour, and benefits including paid time off, holiday pay, on-site daycare at some locations, and a comprehensive benefits package. You will work closely with educators to implement IEPs and ensure confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of childcare experience.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, or 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM, 35 hrs./week

Your Impact as a Classroom Aide

The Classroom Aide supports the lead teacher and educational team by assisting with instruction, classroom tasks, and student support. This role requires strong communication skills, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively with students and staff both in and outside the classroom.

• Assist in instruction and fulfillment of IEP mandates
• Implement established behavior plan(s)
• Assist teacher to implement and monitor individual lesson plans, data collection and charting systems
• Assist in conducting classroom activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need
• Assist with routine classroom functions
• Maintain strict confidentiality
• Assist with home-school communication
• Assist with all required paperwork to be completed
