Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a System Administrator to manage classified information systems under the NISPOM and RMF framework. You will maintain ATO readiness and support the ISSM/ISSO in daily operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with patching, STIGs/SCAPs, Windows and Linux environments, change management, and incident reporting. Active TS with SCI eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of IT experience in security

Responsibilities

• Patch management and account management for classified systems
• Apply STIGs/SCAPs and perform updates
• Manage Windows and Linux user accounts, permissions, services, storage, backups and recovery
• Monitor system health and apply patches and security updates
• Maintain configuration and technical documentation
• Maintain configuration management for hardware and software changes to classified systems
• Implement and validate security controls per NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and STIGs
• Report security incidents to the ISSM per 32 CFR Part 117
• Assess changes that could affect authorization status and notify the ISSM
• Support RMF lifecycle: Prepare, Categorize, Select, Implement, Assess, Authorize, Monitor to decommission
• Develop, maintain, and update Information Systems
• Conduct periodic assessments and continuous monitoring with remediation for findings and vulnerabilities
