Job summary

York Space Systems is seeking a System Administrator to ensure compliance with government requirements for processing classified information. The role supports classified system efforts, performs configuration management, risk assessments, testing security controls, and ensures cybersecurity compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s Degree in IT/security or 5+ years of related experience.
• U.S. government or government contractor experience preferred.
• Security+ or equivalent certification required.
• Active Top Secret clearance or higher required.
• Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical inputs for ground assets in support of classified systems.
• Assist with deployment and configuration of collection services and tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate cyber requirements into space assets during production and operation.
• Continuously evaluate and maintain system baseline in compliance with accreditation.
• Maintain system boundary security configurations including patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Implement cybersecurity controls per regulatory guidance and contractual requirements.
• Assist with validation and remediation of network servers, routers, and switches to meet security policies.
• Establish secured host baseline (SHB) images for multiple OS and DISA STIGs.
• Perform vulnerability testing using ACAS/Nessus, SCAP, and STIGs and remediate within timeframes.
• Perform backups and configure backup repositories per monitoring plans.
• Identify and develop authorization boundary diagrams, architecture diagrams, and inventories.
• Ensure archiving, sanitizing, or disposal of resources per security plans.
• Participate in change management and assess system impact of changes.
• Report security concerns and changes that may affect the system.
• Provide proactive system administration support.
• Other duties as needed.
