Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction in Morganton, NC, is seeking an Institution Classifications Coordinator/Program Coordinator II to join Foothills Correctional Institution. This role supports the Division of Institutions by coordinating offender classifications, advising committees, and ensuring policy interpretation across custody levels.

You will communicate with staff and offenders, participate in subcommittees, help transfer decisions, and provide training on policies and programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of policies and procedures of NCDAC, inmate classification process, and correctional programs.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with staff, offenders, and the general public verbally and in written form.
• Advise Subcommittees (DSC) and area, institution, or complex authorities.
• Attend Subcommittee meetings to advise on policies and procedures.
• Coordinate transfers of offenders and advocate cases through DSC to the DRC.
• Provide informal training in interpreting policies, procedures and laws.
