Liberty University is seeking a Classification & Compensation Specialist to implement and administer the university’s classification and compensation system, ensuring compliance with laws and policies. The role analyzes requests, guides departments, and resolves routine issues and employee concerns.
The position focuses on Workday transactions, job descriptions, data analysis, and ongoing maintenance of the job profile framework, with emphasis on policy adherence and customer satisfaction.
The Classification & Compensation Specialist plays a crucialrole in implementing and administering the university’sclassification and compensation system, ensuring compliance withrelevant laws and regulations. This position involves analyzingposition and compensation requests, providing guidance todepartments, and resolving routine issues and employeeconcerns.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience required and a minimumof 2-3 years of business, compensation or an equivalent combination of education and similar experience in a high-paced, large-size,higher-education or corporate setting.
Must have strong technical/computer skills and a working knowledge of Workday software is desired.
Preferred certifications: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), HRCI Professional of Human Resources (PHR), or HRCI Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR).
The working environment in which one will typically perform theessential functions of this position is a climate-controlledsetting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoorsoccasionally.
If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties andresponsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle(or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a validdriver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performanceof the employee’s position.
