Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking personnel to manage inmate records, classifications, and progress reviews. Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or higher with related administrative/correctional experience.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for related experience.
• Associate's degree plus 1 year related experience qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate inmate records to determine eligibility for institutional assignment, custody changes, employment and treatment programs.
• Coordinate and implement an equitable classification system for ~250 inmates.
• Conduct periodic reviews and evaluate inmate progress.
• Interview inmates and record progress on a periodic basis.
• Counsel inmates regarding general institutional adjustment or related problems.
• Respond to inquiries from departmental officials and other agencies, orally or in writing.
• Operate the SCDC computer to access inmate histories.
