Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is hiring a Class Size Teaching Assistant to support oversized classrooms in Priority Schools. Under supervision, you will assist in instruction and perform related duties as needed.

You’ll help with attendance, classroom organization, and student supervision during meals and arrival times. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (60 college credits or Work Keys/ParaPro).

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Must hold a valid paraprofessional license (ISBE), or be eligible to obtain after required college credits.
• Experience or ability to assist in classroom and school operations as outlined.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch and recess.
• Monitor corridors and verify student IDs for security.
• Assist students with assignments and classroom tasks.
• Help teachers prepare bulletin boards and display work.
• Operate photocopying and educational materials production.
• Support in maintaining orderly classrooms and greet visitors.
