About this Role

The Lineman for Carolina Power & Signalization is responsible for performing a variety of electrical construction and maintenance tasks related to generating stations, transmission/substation, and distribution lines. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot electrical lines and equipment.
2. Install and remove electrical conductors, and place and remove transformers.
3. Perform all maintenance tasks from Groundman to Class C Lineman levels.
4. Provide support to Class A Linemen and assist in completing their duties.
5. Conduct routine line work with minimal supervision.
6. Demonstrate thorough knowledge and skills to perform live maintenance on high voltage lines.
7. Function as a subordinate crew member.
8. Communicate effectively with property owners and the public.
9. Adhere to all safety rules while working on electrical equipment.

What You'll Bring

Experience:

1. 3 to less than 4 years in overhead line construction.
2. Proficiency in electrical terminology specific to line work.
3. Must supply personal tools.
4. Must hold a valid driver's license and DOT card.
5. Must maintain a safe driving record.
6. Must effectively communicate with management and subordinates.
