Job summary

San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is seeking a Bus Driver to safely operate public transit buses on assigned routes in San Diego. No prior experience required; we will train you to obtain a Class B license.

The role includes driving duties, fare collection, and assisting passengers with a focus on safety and excellent customer service. Starting pay is $28.21 per hour with a path to higher rates post-training, plus benefits such as healthcare, dental, vision for you and your family,

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• A valid California driver’s license is required at time of application.
• Candidates must have at least three (3) years of driving experience.
• The successful candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Class B license.

Responsibilities

• Operate a public transit bus on assigned routes according to schedule.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report any issues.
• Collect fares and issue transfers; assist passengers as needed.
• Maintain safety and customer service standards while on duty.
• Communicate clearly with dispatchers and the public.
