Job summary

Datwyler Group is seeking a highly skilled Machinist A to program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills with an emphasis on precision and process optimization. You will develop machining strategies, prove out new jobs, and drive continuous improvements while mentoring Machinists B and C in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

The role requires strong blueprint reading, GD&T skills, and extensive experience with Haas or Mazak controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience.
• Programming CNC lathes and mills.
• Experience with complex machine setups.
• Experience proving out new jobs and processes.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements and setup methods.
• Develop and modify CNC programs to support production, quality, and efficiency goals.
• Perform complex machine setups, tooling selections, fixture installations, and process prove-outs.
• Troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and dimensional issues to maintain production.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Train, mentor, and provide technical support to Machinist B and Machinist C.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance records.
