Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Norcross, GA is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for a local, home-daily route. This position offers weekly pay, paid training, and a strong benefits package, including medical, dental, vision after 30 days and 80 hours PTO in the first year.

Pay consists of $1,400 per week plus per-mile and per-stop incentives. Equipment includes Day Cab tractors with 53’ curtain side trailers and forklift certification. Schedule is Monday–Friday, starting at 5:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.54 per mile with 1600 miles per week
• Solo Stops Pay: $20.00 per stop with 18 stops per week
• Strapping and closing curtain side: $50.00 per day
• Paid training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Start time: 5:00 AM

Route: Local Home Daily

Tractor type: Day Cab

Trailer type: 53’ Curtain Side

Equipment: Forklift – will certify the driver

Freight: Touch – Electrical supplies

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
