Job summary

Milton Rents is seeking an experienced Class A Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our service team in Plaistow, NH. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, and perform preventive maintenance with a focus on safety and accuracy.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, the ability to interpret schematics, and the capacity to train fellow technicians while providing excellent customer support.

Qualifications

• Significant experience repairing heavy equipment or similar machinery.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Strong knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license and own tools.

Overview

Milton Rents is seeking an experienced Class A Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our service team. If you’re a skilled technician with advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics, we want to hear from you.

Pay Rate: $36.00 - $38.00 hour.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety/functionality testing.
• Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical information.
• Train and provide technical guidance to other technicians.
• Assist customers with equipment operation and troubleshooting as needed.
• Accurately complete work orders and service documentation.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

• Significant experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Strong knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Experience in equipment rental or construction preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and own tools.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and serve as a resource for other technicians.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
