COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE OVERVIEW :
- Availability to work variable shifts as dictated by business needs. Typical shift for this position is either Tuesday-Saturday Night Shift (SUN / MON OFF) or Sunday-Thursday Night Shift (FRI / SAT OFF)
- Drivers are paid between $27-$29 per hour depending on scheduled shift and location
- Overtime pay starting at 40 hours worked per week
- Drivers are eligible for monthly and annual bonuses
- First half of sign-on bonus of $1,500 to be paid out at 90 days; second half to be paid out at 180 days of active employment
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Drive defensively and follow all applicable laws and regulations to maintain Gemini’s reputation as one of the safest tank carriers.
- Drive company trucks to load and deliver fuel and commodities to Love’s retail and various third-party customers. Gemini operates 24/7/365.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and company rules and regulations related to the safe operation of hazardous cargo tank motor vehicles.
- Follow proper loading and unloading procedures for transported cargos.
- Maintain contact with logistics as needed.
- Complete driver electronic logs and all necessary documentation required by the company.
- Follow all company guidelines regarding professional conduct with customers, employees, vendors, and the public.
DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS :
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements (HazMat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples) as required by law.
- Meet physical qualifications and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate under 49 CFR, Sections 391.43-49.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE :
- At least 2 years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience or certification from an accredited truck driving academy.
- Knowledge of DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Availability for variable shifts based on business needs.
- Ability to drive up to 11 hours and work a total of 14 hours, including transporting hazardous materials and sitting for extended periods.
- Must be at least 21 years old and meet 49 CFR Section 391.11(b)(1) qualifications.
- Ability to read and speak English as per 49 CFR Section 391.11(b)(2).
- Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections, including walking, bending, reaching, pushing, stooping, squatting, climbing, and handling equipment, with some tasks involving lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for operating a computer and calculator.
- Normal hearing, vision, and smell required.
