Job summary

Position

General Description. A Class A Dump Trailer Driver is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that transports debris from the Transfer Station to the Landfill as needed. The role involves performing a variety of tasks and adapting to workflow changes as required.

Responsibilities
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with a good driving record within MVR policy guidelines.

Qualifications

Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Routinely work 10-12 hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Stooping, bending, walking, crouching, and climbing as needed.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of the cab safely.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; repeatedly lift 25 lbs as part of daily tasks.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Continuous mental attention to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Potential exposure to dust, dirt, grease, and noise; may require PPE such as safety glasses and hardhat.
  • Occasional walking and standing on varied terrain (sand, gravel, pavement, dirt).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in indoor (office) and outdoor (construction, landfill, asphalt) settings.
  • Exposure to noise, grease, and dust; compliance with OSHA exposure limits is required, with controls or PPE provided.
  • Regular proximity to heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Exposure to substances such as oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, and diesel fuel; exposure limits comply with OSHA standards.
