Job summary

Skilled Trades Services is seeking a CDL driver to cover PTO and work comp on a temporary basis. The role involves safely operating a tractor-trailer, delivering to about 10–15 customers daily within a 75-mile radius of the loading area.

Schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 6 AM dispatch. You will load/unload, document activity logs, inspect the truck, and report issues to dispatch. Prior truck driving experience and CDL are required.

Qualifications

• CDL required and valid for operating heavy vehicles.
• Experience in truck driving and ability to handle physical workload.

Job description

We are seeking a CDL driver to cover for drivers on PTO and work comp. This is a temporary position so best suited for someone in between jobs. You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds. Deliver roughly 10 to 15 customers a day in PA, NJ, DE, all within a 75-mile radius of customer.

Tuesday thru Friday, 6 AM dispatch.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
• Load and unload cargo
• Properly track and document activity log
• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
• Inspect truck before and after trip
• All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order they are designated by the Transportation Department Manager.
• The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck back to the assigned lot at the end of the route.
