Job summary

Skilled Trades Services seeks a CDL driver to cover PTO and work comp in a temporary capacity. You will safely operate a tractor-trailer with at least 26,000 pounds capacity and deliver to roughly 10–15 customers daily within a 75‑mile radius of the loading dock across PA, NJ, and DE.

Shifts run Tuesday through Friday with a 6 AM dispatch, and daily routes require loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading at each stop.

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• Prior truck driving experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and handle cargo.

Job description

We are seeking a CDL driver to cover for drivers on PTO and work comp. This is a temporary position so best suited for someone in between jobs. You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds. Deliver roughly 10 to 15 customers a day in PA, NJ, DE, all within a 75-mile radius of customer.

Tuesday thru Friday, 6 AM dispatch.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
• Load and unload cargo
• Properly track and document activity log
• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
• Inspect truck before and after trip
• All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order they are designated by the Transportation Department Manager.
• The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck back to the assigned lot at the end of the route.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields
• Commercial driver's license
• Ability to handle physical workload
