Job summary

GOODWILL CENTRAL COAST in Salinas, CA, is seeking a Full-Time Driver to complete scheduled trailer moves, deliveries and pickups within required timelines. The role requires operating heavy machinery such as roll-off trailers and compactors safely and in accordance with procedures.

The position demands a valid California Class A license, at least one year of commercial driving experience, and the ability to follow state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate in basic Spanish desirable.
• Ability to drive a Class A vehicle in the transaction of duties. This requires a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class A vehicle pickup-truck, box-truck, bobtail, dump truck and/or van, operating according to established procedures and rules.
• Place and/or exchange trailers at donation sites or other designated sites.
• Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, trip sheets, shipping manifests, pickup logs and other related paperwork.
• Load and/or off-load materials and prepare load for transport. Secure load in a safe manner.
• Complete daily safety operational checklist prior to leaving plant and at all stops as necessary to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
