Job summary

Tacoma Screw Products is seeking an entry-level Tractor-Trailer Driver to support deliveries across Western Washington from our Tacoma, WA facility. The role requires a Washington Class A CDL and a responsible, safety-conscious approach to driving.

Starting pay is $28.00 per hour with a full pay range of $28.00–$34.00 per hour and a discretionary year-end bonus. Comprehensive benefits begin after 90 days of employment, including employer-covered health premiums and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid CDL A license for Washington state is required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively for safety and delivery documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Operates a semi-truck according to state and federal laws.
• Transports loads safely and on time, following safety regulations.
• Assists with loading/unloading using appropriate equipment.
• Inspects loads prior to departure to ensure safety.
• Maintains shipping documents and delivers them as needed.
• Performs basic truck maintenance checks and reports issues.

Job Description:

Tacoma Screw Products is a distribution company that sells industrialsupplies, fasteners and tools to contractors, small and largebusinesses and individual retail customers since 1946.

This is a full time role that is currently based out of our TacomaWarehouse located at 2001 Center Street, Tacoma WA 98409.This role will primarily be days, however, flexibility willbe required as nights and swing shifts may be occasionally scheduled.

A day in the life:

The Tractor-Trailer Driver will safely and efficiently deliver andpick up products from various locations across Western Washington.These locations may include The Port of Tacoma, our warehouselocations, retail stores, and occasionally our customers. This rolewill service the greater Tacoma area and will require some flexibilitywith scheduling.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federaltransportation laws.
• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over requiredroute, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloadingareas; follows loading crew signals.
• Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials,using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids andreturns all equipment to designated area.
• Inspects loads before departure to ensure safety standards are met
• Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and otherrequired paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office orother appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
• Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checkingoil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions toShipping Supervisor.
• Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 70 pounds at a time.

Required Skills/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Washington Class A CDL and have an outstanding driving record
• Able to read, write, and communicate effectively as it relates tothe job and to the safety regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform the physical demandsof this job
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Warehouse experience is desired but not required
