Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Class A CDL and be eligible for DFA/Motor Vehicle Regulations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving tractor trailers, straight trucks, or doubles in past 5 years.
  • Knowledge of DOT procedures and safety requirements.
  • Proficient with basic computer use and record-keeping.
  • Strong math skills for load size and weight calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a straight truck, tractor-trailer, or doubles per route schedule.
  • Deliver products safely to customers, warehouses, and distributors on time.
  • Unload/load products at stops as required; stock as needed.
  • Report delays due to road conditions or breakdowns to management.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and basic maintenance per policy.
  • Complete daily paperwork, logs, and trip records per DOT guidelines.
  • Work with others to ensure smooth delivery operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Attend driver workshops and training sessions as required.
  • Adhere to company policies and adapt to changing routes or duties.

Job description

Our Class A Driver for this position can make up to $27.72 per hour

Operate a straight truck, tractor-trailer, or double trailer. Deliver products or assets in a safe and timely manner to customers, warehouses, distributors, etc., according to the delivery route schedule as determined by the supervisor. Demonstrate high standards of customer service. Communicate frequently with peers, supervisors, and others.

Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices

  • Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations (e.g., put deliveries inside coolers and walk-ins) in a safe and timely manner. Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel
  • Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns
  • Based on route design, load and unload product as required at designated stops (2-wheel cart and/or pallet jacket); may include stocking and ordering of product (varies from route to route)
  • Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager
  • Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used (tires, fuel, oil check, etc.) and maintain a clean vehicle
  • Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day. Maintain all log and trip records according to company policy and DOT guidelines
  • Perform load inventory and document condition of freight before departure
  • Attend all driver workshops and training sessions
  • Use company supported applications or systems properly
  • Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer, within the last 5 years preferred
  • Must meet minimum age requirements
  • Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records
  • Must meet all DOT requirements
  • Certification and/or License – valid Class A CDL; some drivers may be required to have a doubles endorsement; license or operator’s permit for at least the three years immediately prior to application
  • Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements
  • Skill in proficient computer usage
  • Skill with math for calculating load size and recording accurate volume/weight measurements
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to contribute to the positive performance behaviors through personal example
  • Able to be proactive in seeking solutions and taking appropriate steps to solve problems
  • Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
  • Able to be punctual, follow directions, and meet deadlines
