Job summary

TALKE USA, INC. seeks CDL drivers to haul loaded and empty containers between the Plant, Port of Houston, and local warehouses. You will perform drayage, collect and return container chassis, and secure loads on chassis daily, following safety checklists.

This role requires current CDL, DOT medical clearance, and a TWIC card, plus the ability to work outdoors in heat and pass background checks. We offer competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401k with 4% match, disability

Qualifications

• Hold a current position as a Forklift Operator or Yard Mule Operator.
• Must have completed at least six months of employment with TALKE USA and in same position.
• No more than one note to file and/or first corrective action.
• A valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical.
• A TWIC Card must be obtained before the training program is completed.
• Committed to remain with TALKE USA as a CDL driver for at least two years.

Responsibilities

• Drayage of full and empty containers between Plant, Port of Houston, local warehouses and/or Rail Terminals.
• Collection and return of container chassis.
• Collection and return of container from depots
• Secure container on chassis
• Install container chassis supports where required.
• Monitor and report operational activities.
• Daily check of Truck as per the checklist provided.

Job description

Summary

Transport, both loaded and empty, containers to and from the Port of Houston and local warehouses.

Important Personal Skills

• Able to work outside in variable weather conditions including high temperature summer months.
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of said PPE.
• 21 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and Level 4 background check.
• Read, write and fluent in English.
