Hood Distribution, a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, is seeking a CDL Truck Driver (Class A) to operate out of our Cabinet Shop in Carnegie, PA, delivering to cabinet shops and lumber dealers.

The role involves 1–2 overnight trips per week with a $60 per diem nightly, importance of safety, DOT compliance, and occasional warehouse support.

Qualifications include valid CDL A, clean driving record, tarping experience, forklift ability, and a professional, customer-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Comply with DOT regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist in warehouse duties when no delivery is scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Hood Distribution is looking for aCDL Truck Driver (Class A)for thePittsburgh, PAfacility. Hood Distribution is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, moldings and related wood products whose customers include cabinet shops, millwork houses, retail lumber yards, and similar businesses. This position will work out of our Cabinet Shop located in Carnegie, PA as a transfer driver spending 1-2 overnight stays a week with $60.00 per diem a night.

Job Responsibilities:

• Will deliver lumber and building materials to cabinet/millwork shops and lumber dealers.
• Follow trucking dispatcher/trucking logistics directions, ensuring all trucking deliveries are performed accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Assist customers with unloading trucks as needed.
• Ensure all delivered materials are properly loaded onto the trucks and securely fastened for travel in accordance with company standards.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
• Assist in the warehouse when no delivery is scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must possess a Valid State’s CDL Class A Driver’s License
• Driving record must be clean/good.
• Must possess some prior tarping experience, as it relates to truck deliveries.
• Must be familiar with, and able to operate a forklift as needed, ability to work independently, as well as a team atmosphere.
• Professional and customer-oriented attitude

Salary range: $27.00-$28.00 plus $60.00 a night per diem for overnight stays.
