Job summary

Hood Distribution is hiring a CDL Class A truck driver for the Hagerstown, MD facility to deliver lumber and related wood products to cabinet shops and lumber dealers. You will follow dispatch directions and assist with unloading as needed.

The position offers a competitive salary with a generous benefits package, Monday–Friday workweeks, and home nightly. A clean driving record, valid CDL, and some tarping/forklift experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid state CDL Class A or Class B License.
• Driving record must be clean/good.
• Must possess tarp­ing experience in relation to truck deliveries.
• Must be familiar with, and able to operate a forklift as needed, ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lumber and building materials to cabinet/millwork shops and lumber dealers.
• Follow dispatcher/trucking logistics directions to ensure timely deliveries.
• Assist customers with unloading trucks as needed.
• Ensure loads are properly loaded and secured for travel per standards.
• Comply with DOT regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in the warehouse when no delivery is scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional and customer-oriented attitude.

Description Position at Hood DistributionCDL Class A driver for the Hagerstown, MD facility. Hood Distribution is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, moldings and related wood products whose customers include cabinet shops, millwork houses, retail lumber yards, and similar businesses. Candidates wishing to be considered for the CDL Truck Driver (Class A) position must possess a Valid State’s CDL Class A Driver’s License and have a Good Driving Record.

Job Responsibilities

• Will deliver lumber and building materials to cabinet/millwork shops and lumber dealers.
• Follow trucking dispatcher/trucking logistics directions, ensuring all trucking deliveries are performed accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Assist customers with unloading trucks as needed.
• Ensure all delivered materials are properly loaded onto the trucks and securely fastened for travel in accordance with company standards.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
• Assist in the warehouse when no delivery is scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Professional and customer-oriented attitude

Requirements / Qualifications

• Must possess a Valid State’s CDL Class A or Class B Driver’s License
• Driving record must be clean/good.
• Must possess some prior tarping experience, as it relates to truck deliveries.
• Must be familiar with, and able to operate a forklift as needed, ability to work independently, as well as a team atmosphere.

Salary Range

$26.00-$28.00
