Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Skilled Laborer/Groundman to support all phases of telecom construction on outdoor sites. You will dig trenches, handle materials, transport equipment, and help build aerial and underground cable systems.

A CDL Class A with a clean driving record is required, with opportunities to learn Coax/Fiber splicing and directional drilling. Compensation ranges from $28 to $32 per hour based on experience, with comprehensive benefits and a strong emphasis on safety

In addition, you will:

• Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment

Compensation of $28-$32 per hour, based on experience.

Additional details

• Overtime pay will be provided in accordance with California labor laws, at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek
• Rest and Meal Breaks will be compensated for paid rest periods and granted unpaid meal breaks in accordance with California labor laws
• Your employment with MasTec is “at-will,” meaning either you or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice
