Job summary

MasTec Communications Group seeks a Skilled Laborer/Groundman to support all phases of telecom construction. You will perform manual tasks, work on outdoor sites, and help build aerial and underground cable systems while learning tools and trades in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

As a Skilled Laborer/Groundman, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment

Qualifications

• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work

• You have a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record

Compensation of $20-$25 per hour, depending on the experience.
