Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial driving experience operating Class A vehicles.
• Valid Texas Class A CDL.
• Minimum three-year safe driving record.
• Ability to meet FMCSA medical certification requirements.
• Strong communication and instructional skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction for CDL students.
• Teach safe operation of Class A commercial vehicles.
• Instruct in pre-trip/post-trip inspections, basic vehicle control, backing, and defensive driving.
• Maintain knowledge of state/federal CDL regulations.
• Evaluate student progress using DPS/testing standards.
• Maintain attendance, records, and program documentation.
• Deliver course content clearly using appropriate methods.
• Assist with recruitment, marketing, and workforce development.
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and campus events.
• Teach courses in various formats (face-to-face, hybrid, etc.).
