Job description

The driver will be trained to operate tractor-trailers and dump trucks and will serve as a mechanic when not driving.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle.
• Ensure the trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unit.
• Transport goods from the origin to the destination.
• Pick up loads and organize goods logically.
• Secure contents inside the truck to prevent damage.
• Safely unload goods at destinations.
• Obtain signatures or scans to confirm deliveries.
• Assist in mapping delivery routes.
• Follow the predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate with dispatch as needed.
• Verify shipment contents match the manifest.
• Perform vehicle inspections before and after trips.
• Check weather and road conditions before departure.
• Keep the vehicle clean.
• Maintain and service the vehicle (refuel, oil change, tire pressure, repairs).
• Report major maintenance or delivery issues to management.
