Alaska Rainbow Lodge is seeking a professional full-time mechanic for the 2025 fishing season in remote SW Alaska.

Meals, lodging, and accommodations are provided for the entire summer!

Applicants should possess a wide range of mechanical skills to assist with all aspects of operating a remote community detached from utilities.

Skills should include:

• A thorough understanding of how gasoline and diesel engines work, with the ability to diagnose and repair issues.
• A basic to moderate understanding of wiring, electrical, and plumbing.
• Proficiency with power and hand tools, and a basic understanding of refrigeration.

Ideal candidates are mechanically minded, capable of troubleshooting problems, and resourceful in using manuals or online resources to fix issues.

During the season, the mechanic will maintain and repair outboard motors, boats, ATVs, side-by-sides, lodge trucks and vans, yard equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, washers and dryers, walk-in freezers and chillers, a Case backhoe, and assist with basic aircraft maintenance.
