Job summary

Clean Harbors in San Jose, CA is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of heavy and light trucks at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers and roll offs. You will perform driving and non-driving duties on and off sites associated with hazardous waste clean-up.

The position requires a valid Class A CDL and Hazmat/Tanker endorsements within 90 days, plus the ability to use mobile devices and pass required checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks as needed.
• Background check, drug test, and medical exam may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by following safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform manual labor on site to fulfill customer needs.
• Placing proper placards to meet DOT requirements.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and reports.
• Adhere to local, state and federal regulations and company guidelines.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and company procedures.
• Observe health and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be available on-call for emergency response on rotation.
• Assist with site remediation and handling of hazardous materials.
