Job summary

Clean Harbors in Romulus, MI seeks a Class A CDL Driver to operate heavy and light trucks at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers and roll-offs. You will perform driving and non-driving duties on and off sites related to hazardous waste cleanup.

Responsibilities include safety-first driving, loading/unloading, daily logs and compliance with DOT rules. Requires CDL, Hazmat/Tanker endorsements within 90 days; on-site work with manual labor as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days
• Tanker endorsement within 90 days
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Background check, drug test, and medical examination as required
• Respiratory protection per OSHA standards (facial hair requirements)
• Commercial driver experience preferred
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred
• Manual transmission experience preferred
• Manual labor experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety and comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as part of a team
• Drive a variety of Class A trucks including vacuum trucks and roll-offs
• Load and unload materials as required
• Perform on-site manual labor to meet customer needs
• Properly placard vehicles to meet DOT requirements
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets and various reports
• Follow local, state and federal regulations and company guidelines
• Operate vehicles in compliance with DOT, local, state regulations and company policies
• Be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis
• Assist with site remediation and hazardous materials handling
