Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks a Truck Driver to operate from our Raleigh office. A Class A CDL is required, with both manual and automatic vehicles in scope. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months.

Primary duties include safely securing loads, performing daily truck/trailer inspections, and maintaining DOT-compliant logs. Travel may be significant, and you may operate non-CDL equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for properly securing loads
• Perform daily inspections of truck/trailer
• Reports any mechanical or safety issues with truck/trailer/equipment
• Inspect equipment/machines to be hauled
• Keep up with log books, ELD’s and comply with Hours of Service and all other DOT requirements for CDL drivers
• May operate various non-CDL equipment
• Coordinate the movement of equipment and materials according to visual signals and directions.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as required.
